“USA-Greece: Celebrating 200 Years of Friendship”
OPUS Integrated Communication successfully handled the promotion of the U.S. Diplomatic Mission’s campaign in Greece, celebrating the 200th anniversary of the Greek Revolution, titled “USA-Greece: Celebrating 200 Years of Friendship”. The campaign aimed to highlight the shared values and ideals that have formed a strong “bridge” of deep friendship and mutual respect between the two nations over the past two centuries, from the start of the Greek Revolution to the present day.
The first video of the campaign, featuring U.S. Ambassador Geoffrey Ross Pyatt, received a very positive reception and was widely shared on the U.S. Embassy’s social media channels. The video set the tone for the commemorative celebrations by emphasizing the importance of forging ties between the two countries 200 years ago, during Greece’s fight for independence, while showcasing the role of American philhellenes in the revolution. It also underscored the strong bonds between the two peoples throughout these two centuries and the commitment to the strategic partnership between the nations, which is now at its strongest point in modern history. The video highlighted key historical moments where the two countries stood side by side as allies, working together to build peace and prosperity.
All campaign videos followed an animated documentary format, featuring illustrated historical references that added dynamism to the interviews with surprise guests from both Greece and the U.S. Each film maintained a cohesive style, using engaging themes and rich visual content to tell the story.
The video production was managed by Opus, directed by Katerina Evangelakou with animation by Kleopatra Korai (lokey).
